With 25+ years of being a beloved professor of the graphic design and illustration program at Missouri State University, Cedomir Kostovic is nearing retirement. The Cedo25+ Exhibition was a celebration and retrospective of his work along with new work by his former and current students. Held from Oct. 18 - 27, 2017 with a closing reception at the Missouri State University Student Exhibition Center.
I was fortunate enough to have this globally-renowned designer for several classes throughout college and I was more than happy to give back in celebration of his tutelage. For this exhibition I created a poster in response to his work. This poster represents the ongoing pollution of the sea and the seafood we consume from it without thought. Oil spill pollution is one of the largest threats to marine ecosystems affecting not only fish, but also turtles, birds, and cetaceans. The chemicals used to disperse oil spills are also toxic to humans when ingested via seafood, leading to health problems such as obesity and type 2 diabetes.
Along with the poster submission, I submitted my rendition of the "25+" logo in collaboration with other students and alumni.
The logo collaboration can be viewed at the Cedo25+ website.
